How to Grow Lisianthus

Lisianthus (eustoma grandiflora) is a fully double flower with a spray-type habit. Available in blue, pink, blue picot, gold, yellow, green, lavender, white, red, and apricot.

Life cycle: Annual

Light: Full sun in well drained soil high in organic matter

Spacing: 4-8" apart. If container planting, 2 plants per 5" pot or 3 plants per 6" pot. Plants may need support.

Uses: Excellent cut flower, Beds, Containers

How to plant:

Sow 12-13 weeks in deep cell packs before last frost. Do not cover seed as light is needed for germination. Keep soil evenly moist, but not saturated and maintain 70-75°F/21-24°C soil temperature. Provide good air circulation unit emergence.
Once emergence has occurred, reduce moisture levels and allow to dry out slightly between watering to prevent algae growth. Reduce temperature to 60-70°F/16-21°C. Avoid stressing the plants with hight temperatures over 85°F/29°C.I recommend bottom watering when possible. Early transplanting recommended. Transplant no later than the fourth leaf stage, approximately 21-28 days.

Germination: 10-15 days at 70-75°F/21-24°C soil temperature

Harvest when 2-3 of the flowers are open.
