Growing Notes

Transplant (recommended) - Sow 5-7 weeks before transplanting in either spring or fall. Gently press seeds into medium. Do not cover as light aids germination. Bottom water or mist to avoid cover seed. Transplant to cell trays or 3" pots 2-4 weeks after sowing. Harden off and transplant outdoors after last frost for spring plantings or 3-4 weeks before first frost for fall plantings.

Direct seed - Sow seed as soon as the soil can be worked. Gently press seeds into soil, do not cover. Keep soil surface moist until emergence. Thin when seedlings have first true leaves.

Harvest

Harvest when flower cluster is 3/4 open. For dried flowers, harvest when clusters are almost fully open.

Deadhead regularly to encourage new flowers.
